The Reading Santa Run returns on Sunday 7th December.
Still time to enter... go on, you know you want to!
Collect your race number and santa suit from 9:00 next Sunday.
The course will take you through the grounds of The University of Reading for a 5k Timed Festive Run, starting and finishing in The Quad.
A massive THANKYOU to the University of Reading for again supporting this Christmas Community event.
There will also be a 2k course or an option of a shorter distance …so that everyone can take part.
So...Walk, jog or run – the choice is yours!
This event attracts hundreds of runners each year and your entry will be helping The Rotary Club of Reading raise funds for local charities - this year club members have chosen to support
‘No5’ and ‘Berkshire Music Trust’.
Come and join us; enter individually, as a family or as a team.
Use this event to raise money for a charity of your choosing by being sponsored to take part.

The Mayor of Reading, Councillor Alice Mpofu-Coles, will be presenting prizes/ A voucher for a one night stay at Greenlands Hotel, Henley-on-Thames for the Fastest finisher of the 5k; kindly donated by Venue Henley (UofR).
There will be photographs being taken on the day which will be sent to all entrants after the event.
Food available to buy in the Quad and water tap- so bring a refillable bottle.

Children under the age of 5yrs are welcome to attend the event accompanied by a responsible adult. Under 5s will be able to take part in the 2k run/walk for free... we encourage them to come in their own festive outfits..

Some info to help your day run smoothly!
Please wear your Number on your front; remember to fill in your name and details on the back. (If you are still to collect your race number and Santa suit bring a pen and safety pins.)
For safety, roads on campus are likely to close at around 10.00am, so please allow plenty of time on Dec 7th!.. NOTE there will be no parking charges on the day of the event.

9.00am- Registration opens in Palmer Quad for collecting race packs/Santa Suits -Bring proof of your entry please.
Starts by Pro-Vice-Chancellor Elizabeth McCrum
10.20am 2k gather for warm up and start. –
Medals for all; awarded at the Finish.
10.45am 5k gather for warm up and start- all those running with
pushchairs, dogs etc to start at the back of the pack please.
Medals for all; awarded at the Finish.
11.40am- Prizegiving for 5K by The Mayor of Reading-
Dr Alice Mpofu-Coles (Prize for fastest over the course-
a voucher kindly donated by Venue Henley)
The Rock Choir will be singing ‘live’ to help get us in the festive spirit.

How to get there on the day....
We encourage those who can, to walk or take public transport. If you are coming by car, please arrive via the Shinfield Road entrance- you will directed to a University Car Park.
